The reason I chose If I Had a Hammer by Pete Seeger, I was so drawn to this song because it's an anthem for justice and freedom, and unity. Pete Seeger also wrote this song at such an important time in our history, as this was a time when we saw a big stride for social justice. If I had a Hammer became the anthem for many social justice groups in its time.
