A song that really connects to what we’ve been learning is “Take Me to the King” by Tamela Mann. I’ve heard it a bunch of times before, but now after studying Pentecostalism, it hits different. The emotion and power in her voice feel just like what we’ve been reading about with “singing in the Spirit.” She’s not just performing—it sounds like she’s actually talking to God and letting everything out. The song’s energy and honesty remind me a lot of what the people at Azusa were doing, just pouring out their faith and emotions through music. It’s real, it’s raw, and you can tell it’s coming straight from the heart.
