Brookes Prompt 8

An example of a modern-day street performer that I found and enjoyed watching is Jalib Johnson, singing "This Is A Mans World" on the streets of New York. Street performance allow for artists, like Jalib, to have creative freedom while singing songs. It helps performers connect emotionally with people around them, and also with the meaning of the song they’re singing. What made me pick this clip is the authenticity of the live performance in a public space. Jalib isn't singing for them, he is singing for himself, which in my opinion is what draws the audience in.
