I picked Mahalia Jackson performing Thomas A Dorsey's "Take My Hand, Precious Lord" at Martin Luther King Jr's funeral. This was an incredibly powerful performance as she sang with such raw emotion and strength that you could feel the grief, hope, and determination of the entire moment. Her voice carried not just the melody, but the weight of the civil rights movement and the personal loss of a leader. This represented a moment of communal mourning and inspiration and it really brought the message of Dorsey's song to another level.
