Scribner Prompt #7 -

One song that really stood out to me was “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands” by Brother Williams’ Memphis Sanctified Singers. It connects directly to what we’ve been studying about early Pentecostal worship—especially the emotional energy, spontaneous singing, and use of instruments that made the music so powerful and alive. The inclusion of trumpet, guitar, and piano reflects how Pentecostal congregations embraced a wide range of sounds to express joy and faith. Listening to it, you can feel the same spirit described in Psalm 150—praising God with everything you have. It really shows how this period shaped gospel and modern worship music that still moves people today.
