Simonelli Prompt #8: Street Performer

In early October, I travelled to Montreal, QC in Canada. Each day I was there, I walked through Place d'Armes and saw different street performers. I linked a short video I got from the trip of a performer covering "Hallelujah." As an observer, it took me aback to see his passion and joy for singing, even for a crowd of people going many different directions or just passing by. I stood and watched him sing this song for awhile, simply because I was experiencing beautiful art in a beautiful location, so I wanted everyone to be able to view it. Because I wish the video I took was longer, I also linked a different performer in the same spot singing "La Vie En Rose." I chose this clip because she clearly has a similar passion for the art, and it is amazing to see how many different performers utilize this central location in the city to share their talents. Street performing is beneficial for performers to put themselves out there to possibly gain money and visibility from the general public. Many of them share their information on a sign and encourage people to follow them on social media. Ultimately, they are able to do something they love for multiple benefits to them, which I think is amazing.
