The song I picked was "Trouble About My Soul" By Thomas Dorsey. I picked this song because it shows Dorsey’s ability to merge the emotional aspects of the blues with along with the message of the church, making it deeply personal and universally relatable. I think the music becomes personalized through its blues melody, emotional vocals , and call and response that that allows for the community aspect while struggling. Also the slow tempo makes the listener feel the weight of the emotions that the singer is going through. Therefore, those aspect make the song unique and memorable.
