Lynch Prompt 11

One of my favorite soul performances is Aretha Franklin's live version of “Dr. Feelgood (Love Is a Serious Business)” from her 1968 concert in Amsterdam. I love this performance because it captures everything that makes Aretha the Queen of Soul. Her control, her power, and the way she can shift from softness to full-blown intensity in a second. There’s this raw honesty in her delivery, like she’s not just singing at the audience but pulling them right into the emotion of the moment. What I really like is how effortless she makes it seem. She barely moves, yet the entire room is locked in on her. It’s the kind of soul performance that feels both personal and larger than life, and it shows exactly why so many modern artists still try to channel her style today.
