Sean McCarthy Prompt #9

 I chose a performance of, Take My Hand Precious Lord, by Elvis Presley, who many are familiar with. But the original song was written by Thomas Dorsey. I chose this example because I loved listening to Elvis with my dad growing up, and I was unaware that he had performed previously written songs, especially gospel songs like this one. It seems like he personalizes it by maybe slowing it down a little bit and using slightly different phrases than the original one. It feels like he put the song into this classic "Elvis" format and style that many of his songs contain.
