I chose the official video for "Show Up" by Enrique Holmes, a modern gospel artist and performer. In this video, he is performing for an audience who is also very involved. I was captivated by the way he engages the audience and felt he delivered a very exciting performance. I noticed elements we have discussed, even in this modern performance, such as simple refrains and moments of call and response. I interpret the message in this song to be that God will be there when you need or call him, which is powerful and encouraging for people listening to this performance, ultimately helping them feel less alone.
