The most important takeaway I've had from this post was that gospel music comes in so many different shapes and sizes, and it has changed and grown very much since its early days. Over time, gospel has blended with other genres, adapted to new cultural moments, and continued to reinvent itself while still holding onto its spiritual roots. The performance I chose is “Take me to the King” by Tamela Mann. I chose this performance because it is a great example of female involvement in gospel music, which is something that grew in popularity over time, and one of its many cool features. Tamela delivers the song with so much emotion that it is beautiful.
