The most important takeaway I had from this class is not only the depth of the culture of gospel, but also how it's influenced some of my favorite soul and blues artists. I especially found it interesting how, my favorite gospel musician, the legendary Bishop Rance Allen, sounded totally different early in his career while performing as the Rance Allen Group with other musicians.
