Brookes Prompt 2: Community and Solidarity Musical Performance

When I think of music that creates community and solidarity I think of church hymns where not just the choir is singing but the audience is singing along as well. This performance really stood out to me because when I think of community I think of people coming together with the same passion and enthusiasm. This video captures that perfectly because not just the people on stage are singing, but everyone in the audience is participating as well creating a shared experience. Not only are people coming together and singing as one, but the song also relays a very powerful message. People don't just sing to sing. They sing this hymn because it speaks to their faith, hope, and reassurance. This is something they can also share with the people around them creating a heartfelt atmosphere.
