Gage Prompt #6

 I think the most important takeaway so far for me has been how the interpretations of spirituals have varied immensely overtime. I'm very curious as to how different spirituals have evolved from when they were originally created without sheet music, to now where everything we know is digitalized. As we learned about how they had to get adapted to white audiences, I thought it was very interesting that some aspects might be lost in history and remain unrecovered. Learning about such an important topic definitely has led to many 'lightbulb' moments, and I think that this will help me in the future with modern day music, as I know more about the foundational aspects of American cultural spirituals and singing.
