One lightbulb moment for me was when we started talking about spirituals and call-and-response, I was reminded of my grandfather's time here at St. Michaels. He was on the glee club back in the 70s and would sing spirituals all time and play them for me as a kid. As soon as we started talking about the different kinds of spirituals, I realized how they've been a part of my childhood the whole time.
