A song that I discovered and really connects to what we’ve been studying is “Take Me to the King” by Tamela Mann. Even though it’s a modern gospel song, the emotion and power in her voice remind me a lot of early Pentecostal worship. Her singing feels raw and heartfelt, almost like a personal conversation with God, which fits the idea of “singing in the Spirit.” I like that the focus of the song is on her voice and the spiritual message. This blends in very well with the theme of deep feeling that we have been studying in the Pentecostal tradition.
