The song I chose was "precious lord, take my hand" by Aretha Franklin. I chose this version because Aretha expresses a deep emotional version to the hymn. In the original song by Dorsey, it was made out of pain and grief, this version turns it into a soulful, emotional, performance. The call and response in the song makes it feel very intimate and helps blend the emotional aspect that she is trying to express. She also adds bits of the blues within the musics melody.
