The song I chose was Blow Gabriel, I think in Work's spiritual types, it is a syncopated melody with some call and response within the song. I enjoy that there are two types of Work's spirituals in the song; I think they work really well together. The call and response is a little different than the usual, but I enjoy the song's twist. There is a ton of energy and clapping throughout the entire song. You can tell that it is well-known, since there are many covers of the song. The lyrics continue to be the same throughout the song, but the energy builds up as time goes by. It is a powerful spiritual.
