The song I chose ended up being Something in the Water by Carrie Underwood. I chose this song because I liked how it showed a modern country artist keeping spiritual tradition alive. I really enjoyed how she was able to blend country style with religious imagery. I think this is a great example of the past and present coming together. Carrie was also able to use Hymns in her song, like "Amazing Grace," which I found very powerful. I just found it so cool that she was able to combine two things I was passionate about. That being country music and scriptures.
