Hetman Prompt 4

 For my song I chose Spiritual by Johnny Cash. I think "Spiritual" by Johnny Cash is a strong pick because it captures the deep emotional and spiritual struggle often found in traditional spirituals, even though it's a modern composition. Cash’s raw, haunting vocals and stripped-down arrangement reflect themes of redemption, guilt, and the search for forgiveness—core elements of many African American spirituals. The song feels like a prayer or confession, making it a powerful modern expression of spiritual longing in a country/folk style. You can hear it in the lyrics the message that it is trying to send and that is why I think it reflects a Spiritual so well.
