I think from my perspective, the most important takeaway I’ve had in the history of gospel course so far is realizing how the music has always been more than just songs. From what we learned, it has been a form of resilience, hope, and cultural identity. This light bulb moment helped me see gospel not only as a religious tradition but also as a historical force that shaped communities and gave voice to people during times of struggle.
